Many thanks to [info]serpentstar for pointing the way to this brief talk from James Wallis.

Seeing this, I am reminded how much I miss James as a fixture in the hobby gaming sphere. I keep hoping that someday, as happened to Michael Corleone in Godfather III, events will conspire to pull him back in.

James' contributions are indeed missed. Also missed is the greeting he and I used to exchange at GenCon as part of our annual ritual...

Me: "Hullo James. So, when is Bugtown coming out?"
James: "Fuck off and die."

It was all good-natured ribbing, never fear. As a playtester, I know how very disappointed James was that Bugtown fell through.

Isn't James also working on bringing back Dragon Warriors?

It's being put out through his company, Magnum Opus Press (in conjunction with Mongoose's Flaming Cobra imprint).

Dunno how much exactly he himself has to do with it, other than being the publisher. That would be a question to ask him, I imagine.

I recently noticed that Baron Munchausen is supposed to be back in print later this year. Which is good because I want to refer to it in the next Forgotten Futures.

Answering your not-questions in no particular order: yes, no, yes, yes, yes, yes, no, fuck off and die.

There is also http://www.magnumopuspress.com which has so far had little love from the games hobby. Enthusiastic students may notice the presence of a biography of Empress Eugenie in amongst the games-related titles, and wonder at it. I can now reveal its true secret: it was edited by Ken Hite.

Someone needs to persuade him out of retirement for One Last Job That Only He Can Do.

Please forgive the total non-sequitur, but you're the only person I know of that I could ask this question:

As a huge fan of Nexus: the Infinite City, what can I do to help re-start the game? If it's even possible, I would love to take up the franchise myself as developer. But I don't know who has the rights and the current legal status of its publication.

Do you have that information or do you know someone else I can ask?

Thank you very much!

The rights would presumably still be held by Jose Garcia, founder of Daedalus Games. I have not been in touch with Jose for many years and do not have contact information for him.
